Lichtenberg nutzt für seine Herausgebertätigkeit auch Zeitschriften, die nicht in der Universitätsbibliothek gesammelt werden. Er bietet Heyne an, der Bibliothek solche Bände zu überlassen, u. a. den „Esprit des Journeaux, worin ich allerley nützliches unter vielem tollen [= verrückten] Zeug bisher gefunden habe.“
In his capacity as editor, Lichtenberg also used journals that were not collected at the university library. He asked Heyne to provide the library with such volumes including the “Esprit des Journeaux, in which I have thus far found much useful among many mad things.”
